Following the Peoples Cartage warehouse fire in Parkersburg, the West Virginia Department of Agriculture (WVDA) collected soil, water, produce, vegetation and honey samples from agricultural and residential properties where sampling was requested.

This page provides sampling results, a map of sampling locations, and additional resources related to compounds commonly evaluated following fires, including polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs).

Results received to date have shown either no detections or low-level findings, with no samples exceeding federal action levels. Based on the results, no additional response or protective measures are required at this time.

For questions about WVDA agricultural sampling, contact the WVDA at 304-558-3200.
