On April 8 and April 20, West Virginia experienced severe freezing temperatures that caused significant damage to agricultural operations across the state. Orchards, vineyards, specialty crops, grain producers, and other farming operations were impacted by these devastating weather events.
Family farms play a critical role in West Virginia's economy, food security, and rural communities. To help assess the full extent of the damage and economic losses, we are asking all affected producers to complete the Agricultural Freeze Damage Survey.
The information collected will help state officials estimate the statewide economic impact of the freeze events and support any requests for federal disaster assistance.
Important Information:
- The survey is open through July 16.
- The survey portal will close on July 16 and will not reopen.
- Submission of a survey does not guarantee financial assistance.
- Your contact information will remain confidential and will not be published.
If your farming operation experienced losses due to the April freeze events, please take a few minutes to complete the survey and ensure your operation is included in this important assessment.
