The West Virginia Department of Agriculture administers this federally funded grant program to provide low-income seniors with access to locally grown fruits, vegetables, honey and herbs. Eligible seniors will receive a book of vouchers to purchase fresh, local products at participating locations across the state.
The SFMNP also increases the domestic consumption of agricultural commodities through farmers markets and roadside stands and aids in the development of new and additional farmers markets and roadside stands across West Virginia. Farmers sign up to participate in SFMNP.
