Health Requirements: Imports and Fairs

Current Import Restrictions



Any susceptible livestock (including horses, cattle, bison, sheep, goats, swine, Cervidae, llamas, alpacas, and other susceptible hoof stock species) entering West Virginia from states with active quarantines, or confirmed positive cases for Vesicular Stomatitis, must have a certificate of veterinary inspection (CVI) with the following statement entered by the issuing accredited veterinarian:

"All animals identified on this certificate have been examined by me and found to be free of Vesicular Stomatitis. These animals have not been exposed to Vesicular Stomatitis nor located on premises where Vesicular Stomatitis has been diagnosed within the past thirty days."
